The Shins - Simple Song
I’m addicted to their newest album, Port of Morrow.
Love’s such a delicate thing that we do, we’ve nothing to prove
Stereo Alchemy - Monster of the Sky
Welcome to the weekend! Here’s your Friday Night Tune for this week: Stereo Alchemy - Monster of the Sky. The trembling bass and the rock-esque sounds mixed with mesmerizing vocals will surely get you into the right mood. Enjoy!
John Mayer - Gravity (live)
I’m a drummer and rarely really know how to appreciate a good guitarist. But the way Mayer handles that guitar is just amazing. Especially live, when some improvs make an already great song like Gravity even better.
Oh I’ll never know what makes this man
With all the love that his heart can stand
Dream of ways to throw it all away
Oh Gravity is working against me
And gravity wants to bring me down

Bombay Bicycle Club - Lights Out, Words Gone
The great thing about the video to Lights Out, Words Gone is that the combination of sound (however sad the lyrics) and video give the perfect feeling of: whatever might be troubling you, there’s always something that will soothen your worries and/or someone with whom you can just forget everything negative. I hope there’s something similar in your life. If so, what is it? What makes YOU feel good?

Punks Jump Up feat Dave 1 - Mr Overtime
Mr Overtime combines the funky synth sounds of the 80’s with Kavinsky-esque disco and electronic tunes. For those who liked the Drive soundtrack: pretty sure you’ll enjoy this.

The Boy Who Trapped The Sun - Copper Down
Colin MacLeod, the Lewis-born 25 year old singer and songwriter known as The Boy Who Trapped The Sun, splits his time between Lewis and south east London - about as far from Lewis as one can be while remaining in the British Isles. Both places informed and inspired The Boy Who Trapped The Sun’s debut album, ‘Fireplace.’ It’s a truly beautiful record, a set of songs that tackle the big universal themes of love and loss, of dreams and hopes with simple tools - a voice, a guitar, a piano, some strings and drums – but a clear desire to try and say something new.

Taproot - No Surrender
I didn’t forget about all of my followers who enjoy some good ol’ rock. So here you go, Taproot with a song from their newest album. Most definitely different than their previous work, but their new album is rather good!

Radiohead - How To Disappear Completely
In a little while
I’ll be gone
The moment’s already passed
Yeah, it’s gone
I’m not here
This isn’t happening
I’m not here, I’m not here

Porcupine Tree - Arriving Somewhere But Not Here (Live)
All my designs, simplified
And all of my plans, compromised
And all of my dreams, sacrificed
Ever had the feeling you’ve been here before?
Drinking down the poison the way you were taught
Ever thought from here on in your life begins
And all you knew was wrong?
Arriving somewhere but not here

Coldplay - (You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party)
I’m not a big fan of Coldplay, but this tribute to Adam Yauch aka MCA of the Beastie Boys is absolutely incredible.

Zelliack - Autumn In Analog
Zelliack combines uplifting guitar riffs, dreamy synths and catchy vocals into one hell of a great tune. Autumn In Analog should be in your playlist for a sunny day. It really should.
A comment on YouTube summarizes them perfectly: “I swear they were created to get everyone laid.”
Chet Faker - I’m Into You
“I’m Into You” is a story about infatuation and lust. Very sensual, the lyrics correspond beautifully with the trip hop beat and make listening to Faker’s smokey voice a relaxing, almost a massage-like experience. It’s safe to say this song is sexual right down to its core.
I gotta feeling we are gonna win
our bodies make it perfect
and your eyes can make me swimthen again everything seems knew
I can barely hold my tongue
to say the least I’m into youand your eyes
are saying more than we can talk and warmer than the bedroom sport
and your thighs are kisses from the outside, girl thats all i need
